How to Create "The Classic Wardrobe?"

The only wardrobe that never goes out of style, is a classic wardrobe! And while most of us visualize creating a wardrobe full of classic staples, we end up buying outfits that look frumpy, ill-fitted and lifeless on us. 

In order to Create a stylish and chic classic wardrobe, the first and most important thing you ought to keep in mind is - your body shape! It needs much awareness and education on understanding the fits that flatter your body. Do not go on a shopping spree unless you are clear of whats good and whats not! Follow these simple steps and you could start off fathoming the quintessential rules for developing a stylish wardrobe:

  • Know You Body: Understand your body-type and work around it. Especially the issue areas, as you need to conceal them. for e.g. If you are heavy on your tummy, opt for an A-line dress, rather than a dress that is fitted at the waist.

Dresses like the ones above, hide the area around your tummy, highlighting the ones that can be flaunted - e.g: toned arms and legs, shoulders, etc.

  • Shop for Wardrobe Essentials: In order to rediscover a wardrobe that is ever stylish, you need to opt for the classic styles. Do not go overboard in experimenting with fits and designs. First identify the fits that flatter you, then prepare a list of the essentials....These may be as follows:
  • A black well fitted formal dress
  • A cocktail dress in metallic color
  • A well tailored black semi-formal jacket (wear at work, party, evenings, just anywhere!)
  • A crisp light colored shirt (Minimum details)
  • A pair of charcoal trousers (smart, elegant, sexy!)
